Professional Practice

Professional Practice is a key component of all School of Education courses. Each course includes a program of Professional Practice in child care centres, kindergartens, pre-primary centres, primary schools or secondary schools depending on the area of specialisation. This practical experience provides essential opportunities to connect theory with practice and develop the knowledge, dispositions, understandings and competencies of a beginning teacher under the guidance of experienced professionals.

All students are required to be available during the scheduled Professional Practice periods as per the School of Education Calendar available on this website.

All students will need to regularly check Blackboard and their ECU student email for announcements regarding Professional Practice.

While on Professional Practice, all students are required to adhere to the School of Education's Professional Practice Rules and Procedures and Code of Professional Conduct for ECU Pre-service Teachers which can be accessed on this website.

Course specific details regarding Professional Practice can be accessed via the individual course entries on this website.
