Summer School

School of Education Summer School 2010 and Term 1 2010 Units

The School of Education Summer School runs between 8 January and 29 January 2010. The Term 1 units run between 1 February and 12 February.

Dates, times and campus location differ for each unit offered. Please see the schedule at the bottom of the page for unit-specific details, including when exams for each unit will be held.

Important Dates

Enrolments OPEN on SIMO as follows:
The FINAL CUT OFF DATE for enrolments and unit variations for Summer School 2010 is Monday 21 December 2009. Students wishing to modify their enrolment after this date must contact the Student Support Office.

University Holidays

No classes will be scheduled during University holidays:
* PLEASE NOTE: all classes affected by the public holiday on Tuesday 26 January have been rescheduled for Wednesday 27 January 2010.

Withdrawal Without Financial Penalty

You must withdraw by Friday 15 January, 2010 to avoid incurring financial liability for your tuition fee.

Withdrawal Without Academic Penalty

You must withdraw by Friday 22 January, 2010 to avoid a Failed mark ("N/0") and incurring financial liability for your tuition fee.

Refunds

Refunds will only be considered in extenuating circumstances - please contact the Fees Office.

Graduation after Summer School

Students who complete their final units in Summer Session 2010 will NOT be able to attend the January 2010 Graduation Ceremony. You may attend the September ceremony. For full graduation information, please visit the Graduations website.

Normal ECU Rules and Policies apply.

Results

Summer Session units will be recorded under the student's course and results will appear on a student's official academic transcript. Results will be published on SIMO by Friday 19 February 2010.

Fees

You will be able to view your Statement of Account online through SIMO for the amount of your Summer Session tuition fee. Summer Session fees must be paid by Friday 15 January, 2010 or your enrolment will be placed on financial encumbrance. Partial payments are not offered for the Summer Session.
To find out the cost for your unit/s please visit the Fees Calculator for 2010, and nominate your student category and the specific unit. Payments can be made at any Australia Post Office or Agency, using Australia Post Billpay or at an ECU Cashier. For any further queries, please contact the Fees Office.

HECS-HELP

If you are enrolled as a Commonwealth supported student in HECS-HELP liable units your current HECS-HELP option (i.e. up front, through taxation) applies. If you want to change your option you must complete and submit a new Request for Commonwealth Support and HECS-HELP form to Student Central as soon as possible, but no later than Monday 21 December 2009.

FEE-HELP

Students enrolled in postgraduate award courses are able to access FEE-HELP to pay fees for any postgraduate unit in summer session. To be eligible you must be an Australian citizen or eligible permanent resident. Request for FEE-HELP Assistance forms are available from Student Central or the Fees Office and must be returned to either office no later than Monday 21 December 2009.
